Encoder mode to control 8 chains in an instrument/drum rack at a time
For controllers with a display (like push 1 and 2) it would be nice to display the chain names and have the solo buttons below the names on the first row of the matrix and the mute buttons on the second row of the matrix. It would be nice to have them to be momentary if held and toggle if tapped. Specifically for the Push 1 and 2 this could be used on the track state and track select buttons instead of the matrix so that it would not interfere with the current matrix mode.
I’ll review this. Note, however, that if it were added, it would not be specific to Push or Push 2. It would work with any (or at least most) Arsenal-powered Control Surface script with encoders.

I think there's some confusion here. In Arsenal, there are two types of modes: Encoder and Matrix.
Encoder modes include assignments for one set of encoders and (optionally) a set of buttons.
Matrix modes include assignments for a button matrix and a set of buttons.
Since this request is about using encoders to control stuff, it would obviously be implemented as an Encoder mode. As I mentioned, that would allow for using buttons to control stuff like chain mutes and wouldn't have any bearing at all on switching between modes.

I have to agree with Jake about the implementation idea. It doesn't make sense for this mode to be an encoder mode only since it would need at least buttons for muting. Adding solo could be cool but solos inside groups can't be automated so I can understand if they aren't implemented. My idea is having the encoders control the sends inside the group, leave the faders to the chain volumes and having (in case of the LCXL) the bottom buttons for muting. This way the buttons used for encoder mode are still acessible and anyone can switch to another encoder mode from there.

Encoder modes include assignments for both encoders and buttons (known as encoder accessory buttons).
In any case, this request wouldn't make sense (or even be possible) as a matrix mode. Aside from that, it wouldn't give you the ability to simultaneously control 32 chains like you're asking for. So please add your request as a separate request.

In the description it talks about how the solo and mute buttons would be on the matrix. How would you have the ability to tap to toggle and hold for momentary from just using the encoders? It says that it would not interfere with the current Matrix mode but it is referring to having the solo and mute buttons mapped to the track state and track select buttons on the pushes. That would be ideal for push users but I understand you want to make it adaptable to any device with a button matrix. it states in the description that the solo buttons would be on the first row and the mute buttons would be on the second row of the matrix. I would post my own idea but I'm afraid people would be confused. Where did you get the notion that the solo and mute buttons would be on the encoders and how were you planning on implementing the controls? I can already map the volume of the chains to macro controls and control the first eight chains but I don't have any way to control the solo and mute buttons on the chains. This is why I voted for this idea. If you can figure out how to control (control meaning being able to toggle status and have momentary control) the solo and mute buttons from the encoders then I'm perfectly fine with that but I'm just not sure how that would work.

How would you have the ability to access the solo and mute buttons of the chains from the encoders? I guess you were thinking of just adding volume control on the encoders?

No, this request is for controlling 8 chains at a time in a way that wouldn't interfere with the current matrix mode. So it would be implemented as an encoder mode. The idea you're proposing is a bit different. Please add it as a separate request.

You mean with matrixs not encoders, right? You could do 32 chains with solo and mute buttons for each. Tap for toggle and hold for momentary. You could light up the solo buttons as yellow and the mute buttons as orange. The top two rows would be for chains one through eight and the third and fourth rows could be for chains 9 through 16 and so on. So the top row would be all yellow and just the solo buttons for chains 1 through 8 and the second row would be all orange and just the mute buttons for chains 1 through 8 and so on.

This should be one of the Arsenal options for the push 1 and push 2 considering not all controllers have the track state and track select buttons. Is there a way to control banks of solo and mute buttons in instrument racks on any controller? This is very useful to me since a lot of times I will have a bunch of simplers in an instrument rack in a drum rack pad. It would be so convenient to audition different drum sounds quickly this way.
